The new CRS unit settles in Chassieu
    25 images
The new CRS unit (CRS N°83) settles in Chassieu As announced last summer by Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, the new CRS unit (CRS N°83) is moving to Chassieu in the Lyon metropolitan area. It will be operational from November 24. Made up of 200 civil servants, CRS N°83 has a number of specific features: immediate availability and real-time intervention. The company's aim is to provide high-intensity policing, such as in the event of urban violence, and to intervene in crisis situations of all kinds, with rapid deployment (10 minutes). These civil servants have been recruited internally to create a special unit: the CRS 83, specialized in urban violence and the fight against drug trafficking. Disorganizing opponents, getting them to give up, making arrests: training is rigorous and highly technical. Civil servants learn to work in cohesion and autonomy. It's a complex mechanism for a group of several dozen individuals. They have to rehearse many times to ensure maximum safety and efficiency in the field. The unit will be mobile throughout France While each police officer in the unit is trained in first aid, eight of them are specialized in first aid. Their mission: to extract the injured, bring them to safety, and perform first aid. Essential training, as the CRS can also intervene in the event of a terrorist attack. This unit numbers 170 police officers. In the rest of France, two other new-generation CRSs are currently being trained, in Marseille and Nantes.

The Banque Alimentaire is organizing its annual food drive from November 24 to 26. The Banque Alimentaire du Rhone is the largest food bank in France, with its 2,500 m2 of warehouse space, 750 m2 of refrigerated area, 600 m2 of service premises. In 2020, the Rhone Food Bank distributed the equivalent of 11 million meals to people in need, an average of 30,000 meals a day all year round. The 79 French Food Banks collect, manage and share foodstuffs to help mankind restore itself, as defined by the charter of the French Federation of Food Banks. They are supplied by several sources: the "pickings" made by volunteers from unsold supermarket produce, food companies, small and large producers, the State through the CNES (Credit National pour les Epiceries Sociales), Europe through the FEAD and the Collecte Nationale. They need food donations this weekend.

Thierry Lhermitte is well known as an actor, but less well known as a horseman. Thierry Lhermitte introduces himself to the trainees as follows: "Hello. My name is Thierry, and I'm a riding instructor. And he's got the look: elime leather jacket, leather Marechal pants, etc. In fact, he's got all the makings of a rider. In fact, he has all the makings of a quiet rider, a bit like Robert Redford in "The Man Who Whispered in Horses' Ears". Calm, attentive and very present. He's here as a professor of equine ethology. So we won't be talking about his film career during the stay. A rider since childhood, for the past twenty-five years he has been passionate about this form of training, which listens to animal behavior and enables us to better observe and guide a horse. He holds a diploma in equestrian ethology and holds the BPJEPS Equitation pleine nature - BFE EE1 - BFE EE2 - and a professional liability insurance policy. This course takes place at the Chateau de Neydens stables in Saint-Cergues (Haute-Savoie). Eight hectares of greenery between France and Switzerland. Thierry Lhermitte responded to a request from the HOPE association, which helps women affected by cancer to rebuild their lives through equitherapy, and of which he is an ambassador. He always comes here on a voluntary basis.

Adopting an animal without thinking is condemning it to abandonment. Dogs, cats... Record number of abandonments at the SPA on the eve of the 2023 summer holidays. On 30 June, the French Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA) recorded a record number of abandoned animals on the eve of the summer holidays. On that day, its 63 shelters in France had 8268 inhabitants, compared with 7983 at the same time last year. This year, the reason given by pet owners is the difficulty of caring for their pets, in particular because of the cost of food and care, which is unaffordable in the face of inflation. This alarming figure is likely to be revised upwards in the coming days. While the society hopes that responsible adopters will come forward as soon as possible, it also reminds us that it needs donations to feed and care for the animals in its care. To prevent further abandonment, the SPA has just launched a new TV and cinema campaign: "Adopting an animal without thinking is condemning it to abandonment". "This film denounces, with a great deal of irony, the absurdity of choosing an animal that is not adapted to the situation or its lifestyle," explains the SPA, which hopes that it will make people think about the issue. Faced with this increase in abandonment, the French government is stepping up targeted controls. From the end of June to September, the DDPPE (Direction Départementale de la Protection des Populations) launches its summer checks, targeting establishments with increased activity during the summer period. The aim of these checks is to ensure compliance with animal welfare legislation and to protect holidaymakers.

Making better lives of the elderly with "A velo sans age". Since its creation in 2012 by Ole Kassow in Denmark this movement keeps growing. Ole Kassow created it to pay homage to his father who was in a wheelchair all his life and wanted to do for the elderly what he had not been able to do for his father. Today it is more than 35,000 volunteer pilots in 52 countries. These trips out into their local environment provides a unique opportunity for the elderly to share their stories and experiences with pilots but also with passers-by, very often curious. And it also allows residents to make new friends in the residence. This intergenerational meeting contributes to the physical and mental well-being of the elderly and also of the volunteers, while thus offering nursing homes an opportunity to stimulate health and mobility. Ole received the 2014 Danish Community Award from the Danish Ministry of Employment for his initiative and he became an Ashoka Fellow, the world's leading NGO for creating change and social entrepreneurship.

Deployment of tactical vehicles, which will travel by rail to Estonia, to be deployed within the Lynx operational mission on the Tapa military camp, with the 13th Demi-brigade of the Foreign Legion. The new French inter-army sub-battlegroup engaged on the East Flank in Estonia will be equipped with the most modern and efficient means, in the continuity of the mechanized and armored battalion of the Aigle mission in Romania. Griffon combat vehicles, multipurpose logistics carriers, small protected vehicles and other equipment have been loaded at the Valbonne loading dock. This logistical movement is coordinated by the EC National Contingent Command (PC NCC) based in Lille. This command post is responsible for coordinating the logistical movement, thus ensuring end-to-end projection autonomy in Europe. This deployment, and especially that of the Griffons, as part of the Lynx operational mission integrated into the Battle Group of the Enhanced Forward Presence under British command in Estonia, demonstrates France's strategic solidarity with its NATO partners. The eFP is proof of the determination of Allied military forces to repel any attack or incursion on Alliance territory. The eFP also illustrates NATO's political and military credibility and the high level of interoperability of its members. During 2022, France assumed command of the NATO Response Force (NRF). Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, the French armed forces have been participating in the reinforcement of the Atlantic Alliance's dissuasive and defensive posture on the eastern flank of Europe. This major effort involves reassuring our partners on NATO's borders, reinforcing our committed assets and projecting new capabilities. French armies have been deployed continuously to the eFP mission since March 2017. This commitment demonstrates France's solidarity with its Baltic partners and more broadly its reliability and credibility within NATO. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the President of the Republic decided to maintain French participation in the eFP BG in Estonia. On March 17, 2022, France deployed an infantry sub-group specialized in combat wear in difficult environments.

“We do everything in our power to promote their exploits to the world through the deployment of technical resources unequalled in the world of women’s sport.” Two soldiers from Valence, are participating this year in the Rallye. One is a helicopter pilot, the other is a chancellor The "Rallye Aicha des Gazelles du Maroc" is a unique event. Each year since 1990, it gathers women from 18 to 71 years old, without any other selection than their determination, whatever their age or background, their nationality, the "Gazelles" come to experience a unique competition by going on an adventure to participate in an orienteering race and not a speed race. This rallye is the only one that can boast the international environmental standard, Under the patronage of his majesty King Mohammed, the Rallye has earned the well-deserved respect of the people of Morocco and the general public. All the participating women are particularly attentive and innovative when it comes to environmental protection. The "Rallye Aicha des Gazelles du Maroc" is a pioneer in concept and innovation. It is a return to the roots of adventure, but it is also at the cutting edge of technology, with security provided by satellite. While it continues to grow and evolve, it remains true to its founding values: courage, the desire to push one's limits, loyalty, solidarity, environmental and social commitment. These women, known as "the Gazelles", come to participate in a unique and memorable adventure. An adventure whose motto, coined by the Gazelles themselves, is « Once a Gazelle, always a Gazelle !» Official start of the famous Rallye des gazelles du Maroc in Nice on March 4th 2023 at the port of Nice

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Army divers, the Military Engineering troops present the first nautical shooting range, unique in France, allowing to train shooting from a wet surface. The interest for diving specialists is to be able to train shooting from wet surfaces after infiltration, (immersed under oxygen, in a kayak or small boat). It also allows divers to train for a change of environment, i.e. to go from water to land, while being in combat action since the shooting range offers a course going into the forest after targets placed on the bank.

The purchase of this vehicle is part of the Scorpion program intended to modernize the army cavalry.
It is a new generation six-wheel drive armored reconnaissance vehicle intended to integrate into combat in urban or mountainous areas.
The Jaguar's T40 turret carries two MMP-type missiles in a retractable launcher, with two more munitions available in the hold.
It is equipped with a 40mm CTAS cannon and a 7.62mm machine gun. The turret can aim the gun up to a 45 degree angle to deal with high targets
The Jaguar benefits from state-of-the-art technology in terms of equipment. It is equipped with recent self-protection systems such as laser warning detectors, missile start detectors, firing start detectors and radio jammer.
It also protects against mines and improvised explosive devices.
Twenty vehicles have been delivered with the expectation of being combat-ready in 2023, and 300 vehicles are expected to be delivered by 2030. The Ministry of Defense has awarded its development to Nexter, Thales, and Arquus

"The invisibles of the quays have a life, adventures, dreams, stories, torments and passions under their clothes. Near the banks of the Rhone, the daily life of a small world of ordinary and zany marginals. Just because you don't have a roof over your head doesn't mean you can't have wonderful stories. Nathalie Bianco succeeds in giving the homeless their share of poetry. She looks at them with a kindly eye. After reading the novel, it is impossible not to become attached to this gallery of colourful characters. Whether it's Nono, who "boasts of using very correct French" and who has some Cyrano in him. Roxanne, who went from foster home to foster home before being "put back into society" at the age of 18, or Malik, a young bicycle delivery man pursued by drug dealers. And the others who call themselves Six Dix, Vava, the Russian, Malik, the Ragondins. Just because you don't have a roof over your head doesn't mean you can't have great stories... A dive into the world of the Malaussène family Nathalie Bianco, from Lyon, was revealed by social networks, she explores the shortcomings of our time. After Les courants d'air (2019), her first novel, she published Les printemps (2020) and Les Petites (2021). The latter is her fourth.

The name "Québec", which comes from the Algonquin word "kébec" meaning "where the river narrows" The Province of Quebec was founded in the Royal Proclamation of 1763 after the Treaty of Paris formally transferred the French colony of Canada to Britain after the Seven Years' War. The proclamation restricted the province to an area along the banks of the Saint Lawrence River. The Quebec Act of 1774 expanded the territory of the province to include the Great Lakes and the Ohio River Valley and south of Rupert's Land, more or less restoring the borders previously existing under French rule before the Conquest of 1760. Quebec occupies a territory nearly three times the size of France Quebec has one of the world's largest reserves of fresh water, occupying 12% of its surface. More than half a million lakes, including 30 with an area greater than 250 square kilometres, and 4,500 rivers pour their torrents into the Atlantic Ocean, through the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and the Arctic Ocean.

Here is Jon, lion of 10 or 15 years old recovered a few days ago by the Tonga association. This starving lion, arrived in St Martin la Plaine, was entrusted by "One Voice" association, further to a seizure by the authorities in a circus in Normandy. He weighs only 116kg, almost half the weight of a lion his age. His coat is very damaged with many skinless areas. It is a bruised lion, it bears many wounds on the body, in particular on its tail which presents several open wounds some of which are very deep. The state of its dentition is very degraded, several teeth are very damaged and it no longer has a hook. Jon has no claws either. He has a very soft character, he shows no sign of aggressiveness and even seeks contact. The former owner claims that because of the coronavirus, he could not feed him ... And what about the wounds? Once healed, a place awaits Jon in a reserve in South Africa Tonga is a center is unique in France https://www.association-tonga.com/ The association collects wild animals seized by the authorities for lack of authorization to detain, poor conditions of detention or ill-treatment. They come from circuses, laboratories or individuals. The association's premises are located near the Espace Zoologique de Saint Martin la Plaine and are not open to the public.

The Fogueres de Sant Joan is the city’s most important celebration, and is officially declared as of International Tourist Interest. Its origin lies in the tradition of burning useless objects with the arrival of the summer solstice. Throughout the city, over 200 large satirical papier mâché statues are set up.  These will go up in smoke on the 24th June during the spectacular Night of Burning or Noche de la Crema, alongside the popular Banya or soaking as firefighters put out the blazes. The celebrations include events such as the Mascletas (a stunning fireworks and firecrackers competition held from the 4th to the 24th in the Plaza de los Luceros square at 2pm) "Feria", which originally referred to an often agricultural economic event, still means "fair". In the field of leisure activities , a "feria" is always attached to bullfighting shows, and the festivities that accompany bullfights. The origin of the fair is always linked to a votive festival, like the Feria de San Isidro, patron saint of the city of Madrid. Feria pays tribute to a farmer who did charity with his wife Maria Torribia, although they themselves were in the greatest destitution (1080-1172). In the mid-nineteenth century, many gypsy women farmers began attending these fairs in their long, hand-made dresses from old clothes. They were often decorated with ruffles to make the simple fabrics more beautiful and more aesthetic. There are also ferias in Latin America (Mexico, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela). In Mexico, the largest fair is San Marcos National Fair, the oldest in the country. Its first edition took place in 1604.

Blind football is an international Paralympic discipline, it is the adaptation of football for the visually impaired. In France, the French Handisport Federation manages licensed athletes and competitions.
Players compete in teams of five (four visually impaired players and a goalie) and compete in two distinct categories:
Blind 1: for players who are blind or have poor visual perception. All practitioners in this category will be placed on an equal footing while playing with an opaque eye patch and blackout eye patches. The guardian, meanwhile, is sighted.
Blind 2 / Blind 3: for visually impaired players. The caretaker can be sighted or visually impaired. Visual acuity in the better eye, after correction, should not exceed 1 / 10th (tolerance nationally up to 2 / 10th) or exceed 20 ° of visual field. For more details, a player classified B2 has a maximum visual acuity of 1 / 20th and a maximum visual field of 5 °. A B3 player, on the other hand, has a visual acuity of between 1 / 20th and 1 / 10th and a visual field of between 5 ° and 20 °.
Footballers use a sound ball, equipped with bells to spot it.
Blind football has its own World Cup and European Championship.
The France team will be at the Tokyo games.
League 1 clubs like the Racing Club de Lens or the Toulouse Football Club have their own blind football section.
Here, the Lens club.

Covid-19. Home-care: Public health neglect is in the spotlight because of this epidemic. Populations very vulnerable to Covid-19, many elderly people cannot do without home care. Faced with the expansion of the Covid-19 epidemic, these home nurses face a double challenge: continuing to help the elderly on a daily basis despite the containment measures while avoiding their contamination. Emmanuelle and her husband Sylvain have been liberal nurses for 4 years. Like all of their Liberal colleagues, they find themselves on the front line in the battle against the Covid-19. They also had to fight for protections. A few months ago we were bullied, today we are heroes ... Yet we are the same, our vocation has not changed. " Home caregivers try to make life easier for their patients by rendering some services: doing some shopping going to the pharmacy managing administrative papers… Emmanuelle admits that she is not serene. “We only have the will to do well, the ambition and the faith in our profession. What makes me angry more than anything is that they lie to us. A lie supported by false scientific references. To justify the absence of material and in particular the masks, we are told that it is not useful while warning us against the fact that we can be asymptomatic vector. This is a flagrant contradiction. Drastic precautions are required. We must not be a vector of contamination. Protective equipment must imperatively and urgently be made available. We are essential vis-à-vis local health in our country ”.

Henri Launay created in 1964 the last sanctuary for doll of collection, in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. This "doll doctor", self-taught surgeon of French porcelain dolls, always dressed in his white blouse, gives a second life to childhood memories. Before the time of throwaway  was the time of the repairable: we kept the objects and therefore we repaired them " Customers come to tell him their memories, which he records to tell them in turn. Henri is known on the international scene: magazines such as the International Herald Tribune, the New York Times, talk about this doll doctor, but also Italian, Chinese, Korean or Japanese magazines. "I'm not the only one, but I'm exclusive. Some other people are also repairing, but repairs as I do ... I'm unbeatable, in all modesty!"
