As societies industrialize and the technological revolution continues, there has been an unprecedented increase in the number and diversity of electromagnetic field (EMF) sources. These sources include video display units (VDUs) associated with computers, mobile phones and their base stations. While these devices have made our life richer, safer and easier, they have been accompanied by concerns about possible health risks due to their EMF emissions. "Honor and Loyalty" it is the legionnaire's motto. He never abandons his own. IILE, the last sanctuary for old legionnaires. Unique in the world “The creation of the Institution of the Invalids of the Foreign Legion is a beautiful dream cherished by all those who not only commanded the Legion, but above all loved it; all those who have understood in its humblest and most secret wheels, the specific mentality of the legionnaire who, in happiness as in misfortune, needs to feel at home” , was to declare the General Koenig, during the inauguration in May 2, 1954. ». Ecole Hoteliere Tsuji ~ a world class French cuisine tradition Responsible for producing 40% of chefs and owners of Michelin starred restaurants in Japan, Tsuji Culinary Institute is the most renowned culinary school in Japan. Two chateaux was formed in the French campus located outside of Lyon. The primary, chateau de l'Eclair, is located in the Beaujolais regio, in the middle of a large vineyard. The intensive program in France is divided into two parts: 5 months are spent at the school where students go through 150 to 180 recipes. During this period, 15 star chefs from all over France are invited to give lectures and demonstrations. The second semester is spent on practical training at Michelin starred restaurants and under locally renowned chefs. The program is offered in French with Japanese instructors acting as intermediaries. Majority of the student body is Japanese with 5% represented by other Asian nationalities, although they must all spend the first year of the program in Japan in Japanese. It all started when Shizuo Tsuji, a former journalist, opened a culinary school in Japan in the 60’s. Through a chance meeting, he was introduced to Paul Bocuse. Under Tsuji’s invitation, Bocuse visited Japan for the first time in1970. Today, there is not a single person interested in studying French cuisine who doesn’t know Paul Bocuse. Shizuo decided to invite not only students but also professional chefs to attend the Bocuse’s seminar. The turn out was 600 participants. Recognizing the value of his work, French government conferred an honorary Meilleur ouvrier de France to Tsuji very early. This is already 40 years ago. Tsuji continued to invite the top chefs from France for seminars and demonstrations at his school in Japan. Because of these long historic ties, there is not one top-level chef in France who has not heard of Ecole hotelier Tsuji.

The "Rrom" problem isn't a new problem. Already, when the French president was the secretary of the interior, the hunting was open. Ten-years ago, a doctor of WHO had reported this camp in a suburb of Paris This community of 250 people had been installed by the city in a dirty area , between Africans who beat them daily and a neo-nazis group who set loose their dogs on them for fun. When I told them I was going to live with them for a few days and take these photos, they were astonished. Rom (Rrom) means "human beings" and was adopted by the IRU (International Romani Union) and the United Nations to designate a group of populations whose initial languages are from the north-western Indian subcontinent. Built in 1921 for use as a military prison, after the invasion of the unoccupied zone of Vichy France in November 1942, the Gestapo used it as a prison, interrogation centre and internment camp for those waiting for transfer to concentration camps. It is estimated that over 15,000 people were imprisoned in Montluc, and over 900 of them were executed within it. Montluc was liberated on 24 August 1944 by FFI troops, when resistance leader Colonel Köenig, profiting from the chaos reigning in Lyon at the time, entered the prison in a stolen German Army car disguised as a Gestapo officer and persuaded the Commandant to free the prisoners, saying that the order had come from the Gestapo Commander in Lyon, Klaus Barbie In 1947, Montluc became a civil prison once again, finally closing in 1997, though the female maison d'arrêt was not closed until May 2009. In 2009, most of the prison, including the walls, the stairs and the courtyard, has been classified monument historique. Notable prisoners: Raymond Aubrac, Anthony Brooks, Marc Bloch, Habib Bourguiba, André Devigny, Salomon Gluck, Maurice Joyeux, Jean Moulin, Élise Rivet

"Kill the pig", a regional tradition
    46 images
"Kill the pig", is a very ancient regional tradition in Loire, a french county. Kill the pig by oneself is forbidden. Except if you have a farm and a breeder's license. You only can eat it by yourself or in family. A farming family has agreed that I follow them when they kill the pig.

In the south of France are winemakers who use the cosmic energy to make wine. The vines are on Roman ruins, in the exact area were the ancient baths. They use the polarity of the Earth, cosmic energies and they planted menhirs for polarize the ground. They cultivate their vineyards with respect to the ground, in the same spirit as the ancient Maya. Their history is like the french novel "Manon des sources". They knew there was water, but the neighboring farmers laughed at them. Now, they produce an extraordinary wine, without sulfite, without chemical additives and some of their wine making is made in amphoras. For sales, in France, contact us: sales@maya-press.com. Thanks.

It is also known with the code "E175" in the food industry; and in medical use, it is known as chrysotherapie in French-speaking . 81 BC a chinese writer talk about, Moise "took the gold calf and pounded it to powder, and strewed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it..." Today, many renowned chefs use it: Philippe BERNACHON who has an international reputation and who is considered one of the best chocolate maker, or Christophe MARGUIN, president of "Les Toques Blanches Lyonnaises" and owner of the eponymous restaurant near Lyon. Photos: Bruno VIGNERON/Maya-Press Created by Luc Fougeiroles in 1994, this farm, heated by heat recovery plant "Eurodif**" (European Gaseous Diffusion Uranium Enrichissement Consortium), receives more than 350 crocodiles (9 different species). Photos: Bruno VIGNERON/Maya-Press world of horseracing is now opening to women. More and more young women are trained to become jockey, to the detriment of men. This year, the school of Horseracing, 65% of registered students are women. In france, to become a jockey, it is necessary to pass through one of the five public schools that train to cap A, Bep and Bac A, type of A level, graduation. Pupils will become driver or jockey. Their school rhythm teeters between school and apprenticeship to horse owners where they will learn by turns all the tricks of the trade, from groom to jockey. This year, the school of Horseracing, 65% of registered students are women. Next year this percentage will raise again, which actually get horseracing crowd worried. Especially because, according to an animator of one of these centers, the world of horseracing - on a masochist level is very close to the one of boxing ... in the fifties ... At this speed, in around ten years from now, all jockeys will be women. Could the woman possibly the horse's future ?

Photos: Bruno VIGNERON / Maya-Press Fiddling about with cars is a manly occupation ? Not anymore ... Thanks to the 14 young women from the "Garage au feminin" created by Herve Malige. A gender that makes him see life in a funny pink, apparently.. In the outskirts of Montpellier, he created an automobile concession fourteen employees of which are women. All of them were trained at the Hervé Malige's school of mechanics called " the Base 34?. They are also shareholders of the company. What is funny when we enter the garage is the children's corner ... and what a surprise ...its cleanliness! No duster lying around, no trace of oil on the ground. When you leave, a little note on the steering wheel with a flower sticked wish you "Have a good trip!".

Blind football is an international Paralympic discipline, it is the adaptation of football for the visually impaired. In France, the French Handisport Federation manages licensed athletes and competitions.
Players compete in teams of five (four visually impaired players and a goalie) and compete in two distinct categories:
Blind 1: for players who are blind or have poor visual perception. All practitioners in this category will be placed on an equal footing while playing with an opaque eye patch and blackout eye patches. The guardian, meanwhile, is sighted.
Blind 2 / Blind 3: for visually impaired players. The caretaker can be sighted or visually impaired. Visual acuity in the better eye, after correction, should not exceed 1 / 10th (tolerance nationally up to 2 / 10th) or exceed 20 ° of visual field. For more details, a player classified B2 has a maximum visual acuity of 1 / 20th and a maximum visual field of 5 °. A B3 player, on the other hand, has a visual acuity of between 1 / 20th and 1 / 10th and a visual field of between 5 ° and 20 °.
Footballers use a sound ball, equipped with bells to spot it.
Blind football has its own World Cup and European Championship.
The France team will be at the Tokyo games.

    International Sex Workers' Day

In 1975, as many as 100 sex workers in France gathered at Lyon’s Saint-Nizier Church and protested against the criminalisation of their work and exploitative living conditions The occupation of Saint - Nizier church by Lyon prostitutes refers to the ten-day occupation of the Saint-Nizier Church in Lyon by more than a hundred prostitutes on 2 June 1975 to draw attention to their inhumane working conditions. The occupation lasted eight days until the women were removed by the police on 10 June. Sympathetic occupations of churches by prostitutes have been followed in Paris, Marseille, Grenoble, Saint-Étienne and Montpellier. This day is celebrated in order to amplify the voices of those involved in sex work. The living conditions of sex workers are often exploitative. It is because of the reason that sex work is criminalised in several countries and therefore, its workers are not treated like those working in other professions. The protest happened each 2 June and this is why it is today marked as International Sex Workers' Day. It is significant as even today, sex workers around the world are struggling to get basic rights. The day acts as a platform to demand equal rights. It also celebrates the impact of the first protest and how when together, the community of sex workers is stronger.

Ictyos, marine leather from France. When 3 young chemists combine luxury and ecology. These three young entrepreneurs put the spotlight on marine leather, known for centuries. The precious shagreen, for example, is nothing other than a stingray leather developed under Louis XV. Today, only three companies in France work with this raw material. Ictyos have set up their workshops near Lyon, where they hope to recover some of the 50,000 tonnes of fish skins that go to the landfill each year. From waste, Ictyos makes a luxury product: a tanned salmon skin sells for between € 30 and € 40. This leather, supple and resistant, "with a rendering close to that of a lizard", is used in particular for high-end watch straps. The choice of Lyon was imposed by its geographical location, at the crossroads of Paris, capital of luxury, of Italy, the leading market for exotic leathers, and of Switzerland, homeland of the watch industry. And Lyon is home to the only engineering school specializing in leather, Itech, and the Leather Technical Center, where these young entrepreneurs have been able to refine their processes. Every year, Ictyos intends to release a new range. After salmon, in 2020 it’ll be sturgeon. The company has yet to install equipment that will recycle 97% of the water needed for vegetable tanning. They are also testing lasers to dispense with dye chemicals. And if the tannery industry suffers from a bad image, Ictyos wants to be decidedly green. First step: a non-polluting skin supply circuit, through agreements with fishmongers, carp breeders from the neighboring Dombes region and even ... a large chain of sushi. The ichthys or ichthus, from the Greek ikhthýs "fish" is also the symbole that was adopted by early Christians as a secret symbol. It is now known colloquially as the "sign of the fish" or the "Jesus’s fish"

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Army divers, the Military Engineering troops present the first nautical shooting range, unique in France, allowing to train shooting from a wet surface. The interest for diving specialists is to be able to train shooting from wet surfaces after infiltration, (immersed under oxygen, in a kayak or small boat). It also allows divers to train for a change of environment, i.e. to go from water to land, while being in combat action since the shooting range offers a course going into the forest after targets placed on the bank.

For years, "l’idole des jeunes" wore around his neck a representation of Jesus crucified with a guitar. One year ago, at the request of a fan of Johnny Hallyday, a jeweler of Lyon created a cross pendant with the effigy of the singer. At the request of a second fan, a few days after the death of the singer, the craftsman of Lyon repeats the pendant.
Immediately, fans snatch it up. Sebastien De Matos, the jeweler, also a fan of the singer, has created a model inspired by the famous Johnny Hallyday's cross in solid silver, set with fake diamonds (zirconium oxides). "We are proud of this creation. So, our idol will always be in our heart" The model is also available in gold and real diamonds.

Making better lives of the elderly with "A velo sans age". Since its creation in 2012 by Ole Kassow in Denmark this movement keeps growing. Ole Kassow created it to pay homage to his father who was in a wheelchair all his life and wanted to do for the elderly what he had not been able to do for his father. Today it is more than 35,000 volunteer pilots in 52 countries. These trips out into their local environment provides a unique opportunity for the elderly to share their stories and experiences with pilots but also with passers-by, very often curious. And it also allows residents to make new friends in the residence. This intergenerational meeting contributes to the physical and mental well-being of the elderly and also of the volunteers, while thus offering nursing homes an opportunity to stimulate health and mobility. Ole received the 2014 Danish Community Award from the Danish Ministry of Employment for his initiative and he became an Ashoka Fellow, the world's leading NGO for creating change and social entrepreneurship.

The Festival of Lights in Lyon, France expresses gratitude toward Mary, mother of Jesus around December 8th of each year. This uniquely Lyonnaise tradition dictates that every house place candles along the outsides of all the windows to produce a spectacular effect throughout the streets. The festival includes other activities based on light and usually lasts four days, with the peak of activity occurring on the 8th. The two main focal points of activity are typically the Basilica of Fourviere which is lit up in different colours, and the Place des Terreaux, which hosts a different light show each year.

The Fogueres de Sant Joan is the city’s most important celebration, and is officially declared as of International Tourist Interest. Its origin lies in the tradition of burning useless objects with the arrival of the summer solstice. Throughout the city, over 200 large satirical papier mâché statues are set up.  These will go up in smoke on the 24th June during the spectacular Night of Burning or Noche de la Crema, alongside the popular Banya or soaking as firefighters put out the blazes. The celebrations include events such as the Mascletas (a stunning fireworks and firecrackers competition held from the 4th to the 24th in the Plaza de los Luceros square at 2pm) "Feria", which originally referred to an often agricultural economic event, still means "fair". In the field of leisure activities , a "feria" is always attached to bullfighting shows, and the festivities that accompany bullfights. The origin of the fair is always linked to a votive festival, like the Feria de San Isidro, patron saint of the city of Madrid. Feria pays tribute to a farmer who did charity with his wife Maria Torribia, although they themselves were in the greatest destitution (1080-1172). In the mid-nineteenth century, many gypsy women farmers began attending these fairs in their long, hand-made dresses from old clothes. They were often decorated with ruffles to make the simple fabrics more beautiful and more aesthetic. There are also ferias in Latin America (Mexico, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela). In Mexico, the largest fair is San Marcos National Fair, the oldest in the country. Its first edition took place in 1604.

Covid-19. Home-care: Public health neglect is in the spotlight because of this epidemic. Populations very vulnerable to Covid-19, many elderly people cannot do without home care. Faced with the expansion of the Covid-19 epidemic, these home nurses face a double challenge: continuing to help the elderly on a daily basis despite the containment measures while avoiding their contamination. Emmanuelle and her husband Sylvain have been liberal nurses for 4 years. Like all of their Liberal colleagues, they find themselves on the front line in the battle against the Covid-19. They also had to fight for protections. A few months ago we were bullied, today we are heroes ... Yet we are the same, our vocation has not changed. " Home caregivers try to make life easier for their patients by rendering some services: doing some shopping going to the pharmacy managing administrative papers… Emmanuelle admits that she is not serene. “We only have the will to do well, the ambition and the faith in our profession. What makes me angry more than anything is that they lie to us. A lie supported by false scientific references. To justify the absence of material and in particular the masks, we are told that it is not useful while warning us against the fact that we can be asymptomatic vector. This is a flagrant contradiction. Drastic precautions are required. We must not be a vector of contamination. Protective equipment must imperatively and urgently be made available. We are essential vis-à-vis local health in our country ”.

Anne Soupa the woman who wanted to be archbishop of Lyon
His fight: to shake up the Church, trying to restore visibility and power to women.
This lay theologian wants to take the reins of the ecclesiastical province of Lyon.
She knows that the chances are very slight, but she wants to break a male "entre-soi" conducive to abuse.
The post being vacant since the resignation of Cardinal Barbarin, last March, she recently announced she was a candidate for the pastoral charge of the diocese of Lyon.
A lay woman archbishop would be a first time for the Catholic Church.
"The apostolic nuncio retains three names that the Ministry of the Interior, in Paris, validates ... or not. Then the pope chooses. In reality, the postulants are called, there are no candidates. But who would come up with the idea of putting the name of a woman on this list? There is a real problem on the issue of women in the Church. There is an awareness of women themselves that is not done. I want to say to Catholic women: “And why not me?" That's why I applied. "
Anne Soupa is the author of numerous books, such as:
Should we believe in the devil? - 1995
Does God love women? - 2012
François, the divine surprise - 2014
Twelve women in the life of Jesus - 2014
The day Luther said no - 2017
Judas, the ideal culprit - 2018
Feet in the stoup - 2011 with Christine Pedotti.
She will create with her "Le comité de la jupe", which promotes feminism within the Catholic Church.
