Fabrice Pannekoucke is the new president of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region, with Laurent Wauquiez as his deputy.
On Thursday 5 September, the plenary assembly of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Council met to elect a new president, following the resignation of Laurent Wauquiez in accordance with the law on the non-accumulation of mandates.
He had previously nominated Fabrice Pannekoucke as his successor.
Mayor of Moutiers and former regional vice-president in charge of agriculture, Pannekoucke's election came as no surprise.
