First hydrogen bus in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region
A zero-emission bus
This first hydrogen bus using French technology is a great success for the region.
The first European project to retrofit a bus with a French 100% hydrogen fuel cell, this bus will be used by the Auvergne-Rône-Alpes region for public and intercity transportation.
Previously powered by diesel, this bus was retrofitted by GCK. Its original internal combustion engine has been replaced by a hydrogen engine, allowing it to run without polluting the environment.
Most of the components are of French and regional origin: the fuel cell was manufactured by the Symbio group, the battery by GCK and the fuel tanks by Forvia (formerly Faurecia).
With a performance comparable to that of the original vehicle, the bus will be able to cover at least 400 km and a significant difference in altitude, meeting the needs of a number of regional lines designed to operate with zero emissions.
