In France more and more impressing action against the housing crisis, homelessness and speculation is rising. Our old friends from DAL have organized another spectacular squat in Paris and built the “ministry for housing crisis”. New groups and movements, especially the “children of Don Quichotte” have organized camps with homeless.

  • France has been the theater of a little revolution for human rights. Like all huge cities, many homeless people live in the streets of Paris. There are many of them... too many actually, because that's what we should always say when talking about people in need.

  • A tunnel of nearly 2 km for pedestrians, bicycles and buses, embellished with videos and sound effects, was inaugurated on Thursday night in Lyon. <br />
The almost two-kilometre-long tunnel, which will be the largest structure in Europe dedicated to sustainable transport.<br />
At the entrance, a fresco created by children from the nearby school.<br />
2 mins by bus, 10 minutes by bike, 20-30 minutes walk: it is the time estimated to bring the two rivers who passing under the Croix-Rousse.<br />
Concocted by the artist Skertzò, 12 sequences of 150 meters will punctuate this long tunnel of 1.7 km for "distracting" the people.<br />
Projected like a movie screen outdoor, frescoes unfold to the principle of anamorphosis<br />
Open from 5am to 0:30, it was directed by Vinci Construction<br />
2km, no restroom...<br />

  • Lyon: More than 800 people sheltered by the Salvation Army this winter
In distress and vulnerable ... homeless.
It is 816 people that the Foundation of the Salvation Army hosts this winter emergency in Lyon. Families lived mostly in the street. "They were addressed to us by the 115".
The vast majority of children and adolescents in the shelter are in school. Thanks to volunteers, French as a foreign language (FFL) and school support are offered several times a week to all members of the families present.
These places of accommodation are there thanks to a collaboration between the State (the Departmental Directorate of Social Cohesion -DDCS-), the Metropolis of Greater Lyon and the House of social watch of the Rhone.
I spoke with a Cameroonian woman who had fled her home, her husband wanting to kill her... Or Albanians fleeing their country because of the local mafia racket...
Africans, maghrebins, kosovar, Albanians... many nationalities live side by side all day long, in perfect osmosis.

Opened as part of the "cold weather" plan, the center will close on March 31 and reopen in October or November.

  • Fiddling about with cars is a manly occupation ? Not anymore ...<br />
Thanks to the 14 young women from the "Garage au feminin" created by Herve Malige.<br />
A gender that makes him see life in a funny pink, apparently..<br />
<br />
On the outskirts of Montpellier, he created an automobile concession fourteen employees of which are women.<br />
All of them were trained at the Hervé Malige's school of mechanics called " the Base 34". They are also shareholders of the company.<br />
<br />
What is funny when we enter the garage is the children's corner ... and what a surprise ...its cleanliness!<br />
No duster lying around, no trace of oil on the ground.<br />
When you leave, a little note on the steering wheel with a flower sticked wish you "Have a good trip!".<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Avec une fleur glissée en travers.

  • New-York City, Madison Square.Echo.<br />
Peeking through the blooming dogwoods in Madison Square Park is 44-foot-high white statue of a head. The sculpture, created by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, is made of fiberglass resin and is modeled after the Greek myth of Echo. <br />
<br />
The statue, called "Echo," wears a serene expression on its face and seems to be a magnet for tots and camera phones. Children played around the statue on Thursday while nearly every passerby on his or her lunch break stopped to snap a photo. <br />
<br />
"Even the people who live here love it," said neighborhood resident Lisa Hin. She said that during the three-day installation process, she had noticed people escaping the office to snap photos and lunch near the statue.

<br />
On the outskirts of Montpellier, he created an automobile concession fourteen employees of which are women.<br />
All of them were trained at the Hervé Malige's school of mechanics called " the Base 34". They are also shareholders of the company.<br />
<br />
What is funny when we enter the garage is the children's corner ... and what a surprise ...its cleanliness!<br />
No duster lying around, no trace of oil on the ground.<br />
When you leave, a little note on the steering wheel with a flower sticked wish you "Have a good trip!".<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Avec une fleur glissée en travers.

Thanks to the 14 young women from the "Garage au feminin" created by Herve Malige.<br />
A gender that makes him see life in a funny pink, apparently..<br />
